HEAT STRESS RELIEF TRAINING PROGRAM HELD IN SHANGHAI BRIGHT HOLSTAN COMAPNY

 

16 individuals attended the heat stress relief training program in the Shanghai Bright Dairy technology center during the first week in June. The training program is organized by Shanghai Bright Holstan company and supported by Israel MASHAV agent. Dr Israel Flamenbaum, a famous international expert specialized in reducing heat stress, was invited to make a lecture: "Influence of Heat Stress on Dairy Cows and Means to Reduce It".

The five day training program consisted of classroom sessions that featured the following topics, temperature humidity index(THI) and its application, heat stress effect on the high yielding dairy cow, the benefits of cooling cows.

Along with the classroom portions of this training, evaluating and adjusting the cooling facilities took place on farms, which enabled them to gain cooling cow knowledge and experience.

In addition, Dr Flamenbaum also visited Shanghai bull station on 7 June.
